The press release: Members of the Springbok team will attend this Saturday’s match at Paul Roos sports ground in Stellenbosch, in support of their old schools Paul Roos Gim and Paarl Boys High.
Many have generously donated wines signed by themselves, from their personal vineyards, for a competition held by the event’s main sponsor, deVere Investments South Africa.
“We are incredibly excited that Springbok stars such as Morne du Plessis, Corne Krige, Schalk Burger and Dawie de Villiers, have generously donated and signed their own wines for our VIP prize draw,” said Fred van Niekerk of deVere, Stellenbosch. “In fact, the top prize is a magnum signed by 6 ex-Springbok captains, which must be a unique item.”
It is hoped that many of the Springbok players will attend deVere’s VIP event, to be held at the Paul Roos clubhouse. “The deVere group is incredibly pleased and proud to be the main sponsor of such an exciting event,” said Fred. “It is important to us to take part in supporting sport at a local level and we are involved in helping Paul Roos Gim on an ongoing basis.”
On a personal note: I'll be the dad holding applications to both schools when the boys run onto the field but only one set when the final whistle blows...
